Residential, interim and respite care in a supportive environment

Dalweem is a purpose‑built residential care home in Perth & Kinross, providing 24‑hour permanent care for adults who, due to age or disability, are no longer able to live independently within the community.

The home also offers interim and respite care, subject to availability, providing short‑term support for individuals and families when needed.

Support at Dalweem focuses on maintaining independence for as long as possible, while ensuring people feel safe, supported and respected.

Who Dalweem supports

Dalweem supports adults who require ongoing residential care due to age‑related needs or disability.

Before moving into Dalweem, everyone will have an assessment to ensure the service can meet their needs and provide appropriate support.

Care and support

Care at Dalweem is person‑centred and tailored to individual needs. The service aims to:

  • Promote independence wherever possible
  • Support daily living and personal care needs
  • Maintain routines, dignity and choice
  • Provide a safe and supportive environment

Support may be provided on a permanent, interim or respite basis, depending on individual circumstances and availability.

Accommodation and facilities

Dalweem can accommodate up to 16 residents.

The home is arranged into two wings, each with:

  • Eight bedrooms
  • A shared lounge area
  • A small kitchen with tea and coffee‑making facilities, including a kettle, toaster, microwave and fridge

There are:

  • Two wing toilets
  • A bathroom with specialist baths offering chair access
  • Separate shower facilities

All bathrooms and shared facilities are designed with disabled access in mind, supporting safety and comfort for residents.

Charges and contributions

You will usually be asked to contribute towards the cost of your stay at Dalweem.

Contributions are based on your individual circumstances and are discussed as part of the assessment and financial review process.

Referrals and assessments

Referrals to Dalweem are made through Accessing care.

Before a placement is offered, a pre‑admission assessment will be completed to help ensure Dalweem is the right environment to meet the person's needs.

Quality and inspection

Dalweem is registered, regulated and inspected by the Care Inspectorate, which monitors standards of care in Scotland.
